UncategorizedGood Lives Project Macroom Sport & Recreation

Goods Lives Project Macroom is commencing its 8th year and offers a Major QQI Award in Sport and Recreation.

The programme provides learners with key transferable employment skills, enabling them to progress to further education and training. The transferable skills include an ability to communicate competently, both verbally and non-verbally. Learners will also develop relevant numeracy skills and the ability to design and implement action plans to assist them along their chosen career path.

As well as gain a full QQI award, throughout the programme learners will be given structured opportunities to gain greater knowledge of self and how to interact positively and effectively with others. Informal education, driven by conversation in a group setting with many intriguing outdoor activities.

We have recently built on additional workshops that will complement the award and support the learner throughout the year. These include holistic well being workshops, social and therapeutic horticulture.

Modules include:

  • Communications,
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Biology
  • Team working
  • Work Experience
  • Gaelic Games
  • Health Related Fitness.
  • Information Technology Skills
